Snapchat is too big, too popular to ever be toppled. And yet, Facebook is still trying its hardest to come up with a viable competitor. Slingshot, an app that never really gained traction when it was first released, has been re-built to take on that challenge. The “new Slingshot” is Facebook’s way of allowing people to “share life as it happens.” It’s essentially Facebook’s version of Snapchat’s Stories feature.

It’s Now Super Easy To Embed Vine Videos

Videos you record with Vine are much, much easier to embed on the Web, the company announced on Friday. As of now, there are two distinct embeddable post styles you can choose from depending on your taste; “Simple” presents Vine clips in a minimal style with no border, while the “Postcard” layout is essentially what you currently see posted on Twitter. To get an embed code for your video, you can snatch it up either from the updated iPhone app or from the post’s page on vine.co.

Instagram Hits 100 Million Active Monthly Users

Instagram is feeling no ill effects following its terms of service nightmare from last year. Instead of seeing a “max exodus,” the company is actually still growing, on Tuesday announcing the app sees 100 million monthly active users—10 million more than last month.
