Except this isn\u2019t just a hardware alliance, it also involves major content providers that will start to provide actual content that customers can view on their new UHD TV sets.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In total, the new alliance \u2014 simply called the UHD Alliance \u2014 includes DIRECTV, Dolby, LG, Netflix, Panasonic, Samsung, Sharp, Sony Visual Product, Technicolor, The Walt Disney Studios, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Brothers Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>The ultimate goal of the UHD Alliance is to enable \u201cproduction, distribution and consumption of content and playback capability of devices.\u201d Warner Bros. president Ron Sanders said that the creation of a consortium is the best way to do this \u2014 to deliver quality UHD TV sets and the content that users will be able to experience on them.<\/p>\n<p>Today is just the beginning \u2014 the alliance said it will meet in the coming months to set a roadmap for the future.
