It turns out the Desire 320 wasn\u2019t the only new smartphone HTC had up its sleeve for CES week. The Taiwanese company has today announced the Desire 826, which boasts a Full HD display, a 64-bit processor, and a front-facing UltraPixel camera.<\/p>\n

While the Desire lineup is undoubtedly HTC\u2019s midrange product family, the Desire 826 is by far the best of the bunch, with near flagship specifications and a very attractive \u2014 although not aluminum \u2014 design. It takes a lot of cues from the Desire Eye, and that\u2019s a good thing.<\/p>\n
The Desire 826 has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen \u2014 that\u2019s half an inch bigger than the flagship One M8\u2032s display \u2014 and is powered by Qualcomm\u2019s octa-core, 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 graphics. It also has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot.<\/p>\n
Like the Desire Eye, the Desire 826 also has front-facing BoomSound speakers that are elegantly hidden beneath the bezels above and below its display. It also has an UltraPixel camera just like the One M8, except it\u2019s on the handset\u2019s front facing forward, rather than on its back.<\/p>\n
That means you should get better selfies and video calls in low light situations, while regular photos will be taken with the conventional 13-megapixel sensor with f\/2.0 aperture on the handset\u2019s back. While the One M8\u2032s UltraPixel camera has its fans, many will see the Desire 826\u2032s sensor as an improvement in most situations.<\/p>\n
The Desire 826 delivers a 2,600mAh battery, and in most markets it will have dual-SIM capabilities and 4G connectivity.
