Microsoft will include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint applications on all new phones and tablets, and the applications have been redesigned to function much better than they do today. If you\u2019ve used it across platforms, you probably already know that Office for Windows Phone isn\u2019t as good as it is for Android and iOS. Thankfully that\u2019s changing.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>New features include a ribbon at the top of the user interface for highlighting text, changing font color, clearing formatting, adding bullets and numbers, creating bold, italicized or underlined text and more. All of this can be accessed in an easy-to-use drop-down menu. PowerPoint is also being updated with plenty of new features and functionality that\u2019s hardware accelerated, so that everything is smoother. Wireless printing will be built into the suite, as will the ability to easily project documents (though Microsoft didn\u2019t discuss how, exactly). Finally, Outlook will have Microsoft\u2019s Word engine built into it, which means composing e-mails should offer a similar experience to what you\u2019ll find in the Word app.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft hasn\u2019t said when it will ship the new Windows 10 operating system for phones, but it\u2019s shaping up to be a pretty sweet offering.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Microsoft is discussing all sorts of new features coming to Windows 10 for PCs, phones and tablets today.
