Some of today’s iOS games boast console-quality graphics and gameplay, but to do that, they need high-resolution visuals, high quality sounds and effects, and more code.

In turn, those apps become larger and take up more storage space on our devices. Until now, Apple has imposed a 2GB size limit, but this week the Cupertino company increased that to 4GB.

“The size limit of an app package submitted through iTunes Connect has increased from 2 GB to 4 GB, so you can include more media in your submission and provide a more complete, rich user experience upon installation,” Apple said in a post for developers.

This is good news for the majority of iOS users, who can expect even greater content in the future. But for those with iPhone and iPads that have under 32GB of storage, it’s going to make managing your space even more difficult.

With a 16GB iPhone, which has roughly 13GB of free space out of the box thanks to the OS, you could install just three 4GB games before your phone starts telling you you’re low on space. That’s without taking any photos or adding any songs, or installing any other apps.

If you’re in the market for a new iOS device, then, this is an even bigger reason to go with at least 32GB of storage if you can.

SOURCE APPLE

VIA TECHRADAR

In case you needed another reason to steer well clear of iOS devices with just 16GB of storage, Apple is now allowing developers to submit apps and games up to 4GB in size to “provide a more complete, rich user experience upon installation.”

[3,20,28
35
post-1545","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-apps","category-mobile","category-tablets","tag-apple","et-has-post-format-content","et_post_format-et-post-format-standard
["GET
