The latest version of Dropbox for iOS makes the app much more useful under Apple\u2019s latest software by finally giving users the ability to upload files from inside their favorite apps.<\/p>\n
Dropbox version 3.7 now boasts an Active Extension that adds a \u201cSave to Dropbox\u201d option to the share menu inside of third-party apps in iOS 8, allowing you to upload things like images from the Photos app or another gallery app of your choice.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t like syncing your entire camera roll with Dropbox, then, this makes it easy to upload select images as and when you need to \u2014 without actually having to open the Dropbox app at all.<\/p>\n
Until now, Dropbox has only allowed the uploading of documents from apps like Pages, but its new Active Extension makes it much more useful. It\u2019s not quite as flexible as Dropbox on Android \u2014 as you might expect \u2014 but it\u2019s getting there, and that\u2019s great news for Dropbox users.<\/p>\n
If the \u201cSave to Dropbox\u201d option doesn\u2019t appear for you inside your favorite apps, you may need to enable it manually. To do that, open up the share menu inside the app you wish to upload from, tap the \u201cMore\u201d button, and then use the toggle alongside the Dropbox app to activate it.<\/p>\n
