Seven months later, we have our first official\u00a0<em>Minecraft: Story Mode<\/em> trailer straight from London Minecon.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Players will control an every-man named Jesse who teams up with a band of generic<em>Minecraft<\/em> characters as they set out to find the Order of the Stone. These four legendary heroes (a warrior, a redstone\u00a0engineer, a griefer, and an architect) slayed the\u00a0Ender Dragon many years before, but have since gone missing.\u00a0With the world in peril once again, Jesse and his friends must find this Order\u00a0to save their world.<\/p>\n<p>Sounds like a touch of classic JRPG storytelling tied into <em>Minecraft<\/em>. Right up my alley, although I have to admit, it is a bit jarring to see voice acting coming from\u00a0<em>Minecraft<\/em>\u00a0people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve worked closely with the amazing team at Mojang to ensure this story is a natural fit for the <em>Minecraft<\/em> world fans already know and love,\u201d said Kevin Bruner, CEO and co-founder of Telltale Games.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAs Jesse, players will steer their own path through a tale of adventure and survival; all brought to life by an all-star cast. Through Telltale\u2019s choice-based gameplay and a story spanning from the Nether to the Farlands, the End, and beyond, we can\u2019t wait for fans to experience this new take on the beloved world of Minecraft\u2026\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe interactive storytellers at Telltale are giving players the chance to explore their own unique interpretation of the <em>Minecraft<\/em> universe,\u201d said Owen Hill, Chief Word Officer at Mojang.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThey\u2019ve crafted a story that follows the logic of Minecraft, but still manages to feel original. It\u2019s actually pretty funny too. And the pig is adorable. We\u2019re super excited about players digging deeper into the world of Minecraft: Story Mode later this year.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You heard the man. Later this year. No release date has been set for\u00a0<em>Minecraft: Story Mode<\/em> yet, but it should be out in 2015. It will span Telltale\u2019s standard five episode length, and will no doubt be released on every platform under the sun. More specifically,\u00a0Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire TV.
