Games are released when they\u2019re done, and they are, more often than not, single player. The studio is looking to ramp things up, though, as they demonstrated at E3 this year with a big showing from many of their internal studios.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Bethesda\u2019s marketing head Pete Hines confirmed as much speaking to\u00a0<em>MCV\u00a0<\/em>this week.<\/p>\n<p>While the studio isn\u2019t rushing to get there, it\u2019s something they want to build to: \u201cWe\u2019re not thinking \u2018what if we did 8 or 10 games a year?\u2019 That\u2019s just not how we do things. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s necessarily the case that we are doing okay with seven studios but if it was 14 we could do twice as much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those three or four big titles don\u2019t even include some of Bethesda\u2019s more recent efforts to branch out, like the\u00a0<em>Fallout Shelter<\/em> mobile game and the announced\u00a0<em>Elder Scrolls<\/em>\u00a0digital card game.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest\u00a0hurdle for the publisher to overcome is that none of their titles is a yearly title. That\u2019s not necessarily a bad thing \u2013 but it does suggest that pulling in more studios will be part of their strategy. With <em>Dishonored<\/em>, Bethesda published the original and then brought\u00a0the studio internal for the second, and that seems like a likely strategy moving forward. With Bethesda\u2019s focus on quality so far \u2013\u00a0<em>Dishonored, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Fallout, Elder Scrolls<\/em> and even to a lesser degree\u00a0<em>The Evil Within <\/em>all acting as\u00a0past\u00a0proof \u2013 I\u2019m looking forward to seeing what they do in the next few years.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fallout 4\u00a0<\/em>hits\u00a0on November 10, 2015, <em>Dishonored 2\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>DOOM<\/em> next year, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.<\/p>\n<div class=\"infinite-scroll-metadata\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"sourcevia-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"sourcevia fCaps fLS0\"><span class=\"label fLS1\">SOURCE<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcvuk.com\/news\/read\/fallout-boy-bethesda-s-pete-hines-on-the-biggest-12-months-in-the-publisher-s-history\/0154609\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MCV<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bethesda is one of those rare, older American publishers;\u00a0it\u2019s been around forever, it moves at a tortoise-like speed.
