Dorsey had been serving as the\u00a0interim CEO following Dick Costolo\u2019s decision to step down from the appointment. Reports last week suggested\u00a0Dorsey would take the role, though there had apparently been some concern about his involvement with Square.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dorsey is also the CEO of Square, and Twitter \u2014 now a public company \u2014 said it was looking for a full-time CEO. The two sides must have worked out a deal, however, as Dorsey will also continue his leadership role at Square.\u00a0Twitter also named Adam Bain, former president, global revenue and partnerships, as the firm\u2019s new chief operating officer. As expected, Dick Costolo officially resigned his post with the board of Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Dorsey will relinquish his post as chairman of the board of Twitter while he\u00a0is CEO.
