{"id":292,"date":"2014-10-22T17:05:07","date_gmt":"2014-10-23T00:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kmtechblog.com\/?p=292"},"modified":"2014-10-22T17:05:07","modified_gmt":"2014-10-23T00:05:07","slug":"papers-please-dev-releases-demo-for-next-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmtech.blog\/?p=292","title":{"rendered":"Papers, Please Dev Releases Demo for Next Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lucas Pope, the indie developer behind last year\u2019s\u00a0<em>Papers, Please<\/em>, has released a playable demo for his next game,\u00a0<em>Return of the Obra Dinn.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The game looks to be a sharp departure from his previous effort, which simulated a checkpoint between two Eastern European nations during the Cold War.\u00a0<em>Obra Dinn\u00a0<\/em>is a nautical mystery game with a visual style at least as distinctive as that of\u00a0<em>Papers, Please<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The game, according to\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.polygon.com\/2014\/10\/22\/7038151\/papers-please-return-of-obra-dinn-demo-pc\">Polygon<\/a><\/em>, is set in 1808, and tasks you with investigating a merchant ship that drifts ashore after six years lost at sea.<\/p>\n<p>The demo is available now on Pope\u2019s official site, but he says that while this is a playable build, \u201cthere\u2019s not much content and it hasn\u2019t been tested.
