{"id":3616,"date":"2017-07-08T11:00:58","date_gmt":"2017-07-08T18:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kmtechblog.com\/?p=3616"},"modified":"2017-07-08T11:00:58","modified_gmt":"2017-07-08T18:00:58","slug":"halo-5-will-true-4k-xbox-one-x-not-coming-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kmtech.blog\/?p=3616","title":{"rendered":"Halo 5 will be \u2018true 4K\u2019 on Xbox One X, but it\u2019s not coming to PC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite a lack of any announcements regarding a\u00a0<em>new<\/em>\u00a0title in the series, this is a big week for\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0fans.\u00a0<em>Halo\u00a05:\u00a0Guardians\u00a0<\/em>is officially getting the \u201ctrue\u00a04K\u201d treatment, and tons of\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0is heading to\u00a0Xbox\u00a0One via backward compatibility.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u00a0has confirmed that\u00a0<em>Halo 5: Guardians<\/em>\u00a0will receive an update to\u00a0support true 4K\u00a0on\u00a0Xbox\u00a0One X. Developer 343 Industries was deeply committed to hitting a locked 60 fps frame rate when the game released in 2015, so it\u2019s safe to assume that\u2019ll hold true here, as well. While a new\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0title would be ideal,\u00a0<em>Halo 5<\/em>\u00a0will likely be one of the showcase titles for how titles that were originally built for\u00a0Xbox One can be optimized for\u00a0Xbox\u00a0One X.<\/p>\n<p>On the backwards compatibility side of things,\u00a0<em>Halo 3,\u00a0Halo\u00a03:\u00a0ODST, Halo 4<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Halo:\u00a0Combat\u00a0Evolved\u00a0Anniversary<\/em>\u00a0are all coming to\u00a0Xbox\u00a0One later this year.\u00a0<em>Halo: Reach\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Halo Wars<\/em>\u00a0are already available via backwards compatibility.\u00a0<em>Halo 2: Anniversary,<\/em>\u00a0I believe,<em>\u00a0<\/em>sits as the only title left in Microsoft\u2019s\u00a0<em>Halo: The\u00a0Master Chief\u00a0Collection<\/em>\u00a0that is available\u00a0<em>only<\/em>\u00a0as part of that collection. Multiplayer is core to the\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0experience, and\u00a0Microsoft\u00a0is looking to tear down any barriers to the online community that it can.
