Alongside this,\u00a0<em>Sea of Thieves<\/em>\u00a0is already the best-selling Microsoft Studios first party on Windows 10.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft says that the 2 million sales number does not include people who played it via Microsoft\u2019s Xbox Game Pass. The fastest-selling badge, though, refers specifically to Microsoft IPs and to this generation. Games like\u00a0<em>Sunset Overdrive<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Quantum Break\u00a0<\/em>are under that umbrella, while games like\u00a0<em>Forza\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Gears of War<\/em>\u00a0are not.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has struggled over the last few years to establish the Xbox One as a home for original, Microsoft-exclusive games. While Sony doles out games like\u00a0<em>Uncharted 4, Bloodborne,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Horizon Zero Dawn<\/em>, Microsoft is looking at a few\u00a0<em>Forza<\/em>\u00a0games and exactly one each of fresh\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Gears<\/em>\u00a0titles. Games like the aforementioned\u00a0<em>Quantum Break<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Sunset <\/em><em>Overdrive<\/em>\u00a0stand out, but while they did well with critics they struggled to hit the big time sales-wise.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, games like\u00a0<em>Crackdown<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Scalebound<\/em>\u00a0have seen heavy delays, and the latter even ended up getting canned.\u00a0This year seems to be the time for Microsoft to make a push, and the first volley seems to be working.
