Shadow Realms<\/em> started its public life with an interesting ad campaign this fall before being overhauled into a full release in January. That life span turned out, however, to be much shorter than we\u2019d expected.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n BioWare announced today that it has \u201cmade the decision not to move forward with the development of Shadow Realms<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhile the team did amazing work on the game concept, and we got lots of great feedback from our fans\u2026 right now there are other projects for the team to work on within BioWare studios.\u201d<\/p>\n For those looking forward to a new property coming out of one of the top RPG producers, it\u2019s disappointing to hear about it being scrapped in favor of working on other stuff. There is a bright side, though.<\/p>\n We\u2019ve seen too many studio closures in the last few years, but this won\u2019t be one of them. BioWare has lots of projects in the hopper, including additional content for\u00a0Dragon Age: Inquisition,\u00a0<\/em>the next game in the\u00a0Mass Effect<\/em> series and \u201cother new IP.\u201d BioWare Austin, the studio behind\u00a0Shadow Realms<\/em>, will be working on\u00a0Star Wars: The Old Republic<\/em>, which BioWare believes will see a bump thanks to the impending release of the next\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>film.<\/p>\n Shadow Realms<\/em>, we barely knew you. We\u2019ll miss the dapper guy with the smoke face, the hoodie full of light, the kid who was trying to get into the car (but was already in the car) and the kid who didn\u2019t want to answer his phone.
