We’ve known for well over a year that the next Tomb Raider game would be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Some concept art leaked last summer, confirming that the title hadn’t changed and, in all likelihood, wouldn’t. Then, yesterday, Square Enix updated the official Tomb Raider website, accidentally embedding a release date in the site’s source code.

‘Wear OS by Google’ replaces the fading Android Wear

Google just made its expected Android Wear rebranding official, changing the name of the platform to be more neutral.

The new name for Android on smartwatches is ‘Wear OS by Google’ and includes a new logo and app. Since the platform works with both Android and iOS devices, the company didn’t want to limit itself and mislead consumers. Wear OS obviously sounds friendlier across both Google and Apple’s respective mobile operating systems.

Apple’s Emergency SOS feature has led to a lot of accidental 911 calls

Apple devices at its Elk Grove refurbishing center have been accidentally calling 911, flooding emergency dispatchers with unsolicited calls. According to CBS Sacramento, dispatchers for the Elk Grove Police have received an average of 20 calls per day and a total of over 1,600 calls since October. Sacramento County Sheriff Department Communication Center says it too has received these calls, claiming 47 of them have come since January 1.

Snap’s turnaround could be happening sooner than anyone expected. The company behind Snapchat announced financial results for Q4 2017, and its performance beat expectations to send the stock price surging. Investors appeared to be impressed by growth in daily active users and revenue; however, costs remain high for Snap as profitability still hasn’t been achieved. The matter of profitability aside, it was exactly the type of quarter Snap needed to silence skeptics for a bit.
