Xbox Live will continue to be a large part of Microsoft’s commitment to gaming on the Xbox One. 15,000 servers currently power Xbox Live, but 300,000 will be online for the launch of the new console. The same amount of computing power the entire world had in 1999.
The new Xbox Live will be more personal and customizable, and while not that many details were shared at the event as to what that meant, the big news was that achievements will continue. While they are a staple of gaming today, they didn’t exist on the original Xbox, so obviously Microsoft felt they were popular enough on the Xbox 360 to continue the trend.
