Sony’s controversial comedy, The Interview, will be available to watch on Netflix on Jan. 24. That’s—one, two, three, four—four days away. On a Saturday, no less, which means you can spend this weekend eating pizza and seeing what all the fuss is about.

Although there are many VOD services (and even theaters) offering up opportunities to watch The Interview, Netflix says it’s offering the film “exclusively,” suggesting competing subscription services (Amazon Prime Instant Video comes to mind) won’t offer the movie to stream.

The Interview has reportedly earned Sony $40 million since the firm adopted a VOD method of distribution, which is pretty impressive for such a mediocre comedy. (It’s the kind of fart-joke movie you can quote with friends (as I have been doing), but there’s nothing particularly extraordinary about it.) I wonder if the constant focus on the Sony hack helped contribute to the movie’s unexpected “success.” Who knows how much money was lost as a result of Sony’s unfortunate situation.

If you haven’t seen the movie by now, you’ll have a chance to very soon. The Interviewwill initially be available to subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
