With well over 34 million copies of Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 already off shelves, analysts were questioning whether the re-master that hit Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this fall would sell enough copies to justify the money spent.

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said this week that the sales for GTA V have “vastly exceeded” expectations, with 1.47 million physical copies of the game sold including copies included in the PlayStation 4 Black Friday bundle. Pachter adds that Wedbush estimates an additional 368,000 digital sales on top of that.

“This suggests worldwide sell-through approaching 3.7 million units in November alone, meaning our prior sell-in estimate of 3.75 million units for Q3:15 was way too conservative.”

The PC release of Rockstar’s mega hit is set for January 27, at which point the sales should get another big jump as many of the fans who have been waiting for a PC port will finally get their wish.
