The incredibly popular Tweetbot app for Mac has returned to the Mac App Store after an authentication issue that surfaced over the weekend was resolved. New users are now able to purchase and authorize the application again without any hiccups.

Tweetbot had to be taken down on Saturday after new users began reporting that they were no longer able to login. It was initially believed that the app had reached its 100,000 Twitter token limit imposed on third-party clients, which would have meant a return was unlikely.

But Tweetbot developer Tapbots has since tweeted to confirm that it has “worked with Twitter to resolve Tweetbot for Mac authentication issues.”

Existing Tweetbot owners can now download the latest version of the app again as well as any future updates, while new customers can purchase the title for the first time and authenticate it with their Twitter account.

This is great news for Mac users, with Tweetbot widely considered to be one of the best third-party clients — not only on OS X, but on iOS as well.

It doesn’t just look great with its Retina-ready graphics, but it’s packing everything you would expect from a great Twitter app — including support for multiple timelines and accounts, mute filters, timeline position syncing, and support for services like Pocket, Instapaper, and Readability.

If you’d like to give Tweetbot for OS X a try, you’ll find it in the Mac App Store now via the source link below, priced at $19.99.
