YouTube-Material-Design

Google has been working to bring Material Design to all of its Android apps in recent weeks, and now YouTube, one of the search giant’s most popular offerings, is getting its Lollipop makeover. Users will find plenty of pretty colors throughout, with toolbars and other interface elements that automatically change to match your favorite channels.

Like a lot of Google’s own apps, YouTube was already pretty clean and tidy — but it has been looking a little drab and outdated recently. That’s no longer the case thanks to its gorgeous Material Design makeover, which starts with a fancy new app icon.

Inside the app you’ll find a new tab bar in YouTube’s signature red, as well as clean white backgrounds, and improved navigation drawers. By far the best change, however, is the app’s new toolbar, which automatically changes color to match the theme of the channel you are looking at.

In addition to the visual changes, Google has added more advanced search filters, making it easier to find the content you’re looking for. You can choose to view only HD content, videos with closed captions, or even channels streaming live.

Like all Google app updates, this one is rolling out in phases via Google Play, so not all users will receive it at the same time. If you don’t want to wait, you can download the APK from Android Police via the link below and install it manually.
