The latest version of Apple’s Mac software, called OS X 10.11 El Capitan, will get a free release this fall. There’s also a beta coming in July, though the developer beta is available now.

El Capitan isn’t as big as last year’s OS X update, but it still packs in some nice improvements. In Safari you can pin specific sites so they’re always running and ready to go. Apple’s browser will also get the ability to mute specific tabs.

Spotlight gets some enhancements as well. You can resize the window and ask specific or more complicated questions. Another nice new feature is the ability to quickly pick two apps for a side-by-side view.

There’s plenty more included with OS X 10.11 El Capitan. We’ll have even more coverage once we get our hands on the beta of Apple’s new software.
