Microsoft did an extended demo of Minecraft being played on its augmented reality HoloLens headset at E3, and it may just blow your mind.

Even since Microsoft first showed off the HoloLens the company has teased us with how it might interact with Minecraft, the game made by Mojang that it purchased. Having been around the gaming world for decades now I have been promised peripherals that will change the way I game (I’m looking at you, Power Glove!), but if the HoloLens lives up to even 60 or 70 percent of what was shown on stage at Microsoft’s press conference, this could be a game changer. (no pun intended)

The only question I have is while this seems perfect for a Minecraft style game, what other possible genres could it interact with? Real time strategy? SimCity? Civilization? There are a lot of ways I could see this being used, and all of them bend my mind a little bit.

Now, if we could just get a release date and price.
