In its first month on the market Apple Music has racked up 11 million customers for its free trial, the company told USA Today. Just 2 million of those subscriptions are for family plans, according to Apple’s chief of Internet software and services Eddie Cue.

Of course, Apple won’t make any money off those subscriptions until its three-month trials ends and people start paying for the service. At that point it’s unclear how many listeners will stick around, especially with free options from competitors like Spotify. Even so, the Cupertino company seems optimistic.

“We’re thrilled with the numbers so far,” Cue told USA Today.

These numbers put Apple Music at a little over half of Spotify’s 20 million paying customers. The Swedish streaming giant boasts a total of 75 million active listeners, though the majority opt for a free ad-supported option that Apple doesn’t offer.

Apple also revealed record App Store sales in July, largely thanks to “momentum in China” according to Cue. He notes that the company has now paid third-party developers a total of $33 billion, up from the $25 billion reached last year.
