Seems like Microsoft enjoys being in first place. After breaking the PlayStation 4′s ten-month winning streak as the best selling console in November and December, it has officially reinstated the $349.99 holiday price which is largely credited towards that success. Xbox Wire confirmed the story along with a two minute video of Xbox Boss Phil Spencer discussing what is in store for 2015.

The new discount kicks in on Jan. 16th, and it will remain for an unspecified amount of time. Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Xbox Michael Nichols confirmed withPolygon that this price drop is not a permanent one, and the company has just not determined a length.

Smart thing to say considering many people bought the $349 Xbox One over the holiday because they knew the discount was not permanent. If the discount was permanent, that sense of urgency is lost.

“Building off a record-setting holiday, we are excited to announce a new promotion in which fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One at a special price of $349, starting tomorrow, January 16, from their preferred retailer,” says Nichols.

“We are thankful for all the excitement for Xbox One this holiday and proud to offer more fans the amazing games lineup, Xbox Live gaming community, and continual innovation that Xbox One fans have come to enjoy.”

Other news surrounding the Xbox brand comes from the Xbox 360 of all places which surpassed the Wii worldwide as the best selling seventh-generation console.
