Epic Games announced this week that the closed alpha test phase for its upcoming multiplayer game, Fortnite, starts today, December 2.

Epic has invited, according to the FAQ for Online Test 1, “a few thousand players,” with some invites already out and others getting loaded up for deployment in the coming days.

The alpha test runs from December 2 until December 19, exclusively on PC. The team says it is not working on any console versions currently, but it’s clear it hasn’t ruled it out, either – potential console versions would potentially get split screen modes, the FAQ says.

If you haven’t signed up already and still want a chance at getting in, Epic is still taking names for a shot at getting in.
