One of the most exciting features Android O is set to bring to the table is support for picture-in-picture (PIP) video. It’s something that’s been a part of Android TV since Nougat, but will finally make its way to smartphones and tablets with the next major build of the open-source operating system.

As Android O — its official flavor is still yet to be announced — is currently available as a Developer Preview, a number of applications have already added compatibility for PIP, including Duo, Play Movies and VLC. However, one major name has been missing from the list: Chrome. Up until now, that is.

On Sunday, Google apparently rolled out the feature in a server-side update for the Chrome Dev application. Unfortunately, there’s no word on when it will make its way to the regular version of the client, though we’re guessing it will be around the same time the final build of Android O starts rolling out.

It’s easy to see if the feature has reached your handset

According to the folks over at Android Police, it’s easy to see if the feature has reached your handset; if you happen to have Chrome Dev installed on a unit running the Android O Developer Preview, open a video in full-screen in a browser window, then tap the Recents button twice.
