2016 is a brand new year. A new year for broken resolutions about caffeine and gym time, a new year for video games, and everything else. After ringing in the new year, Xbox boss Phil Spencer hopped on Twitter to answer fan questions about what we can look forward to in 2016 on Xbox. He was, of course, pretty vague, but we can pick up a few things.

On the topic of old IP, one fan asked about a return of Alan Wake. While the decision is ultimately up to Remedy Entertainment, Alan Wake has been a Microsoft-centric IP, with the original appearing on Xbox 360 and PC, and Remedy has been Xbox-focused on the console side since development began on Alan Wake over 10 years ago. As for a sequel, Spencer said that, right now, “all of our focus with [Remedy Entertainment] is on Quantum Break, but as we finish I’m sure we’ll talk about the future.”

If you ever poke your head into Spencer’s Twitter mentions, you’ll invariably see among the chatter fans asking for features ranging from the likely to the impossible. One that Spencer chose to respond to was the idea of streaming Xbox One to an Xbox 360 instead of to Windows 10. This feature, he says, “isn’t in development.”

This year’s exclusive lineup was touted as being the biggest in the history of the platform, but with games like Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6, and Rise of the Tomb Raider, it was largely some pretty well-known quantities. It’d be great to see the Xbox team turn their attention to bringing some new blood to the platform. With games like Scalebound, Quantum Break, and ReCore, that’s already looking to be a major focus for the team.
