Bandai Namco’s upcoming aerial combat game is now destined for more platforms. Ace Combat 7, now with the subtitle Skies Unknown, will be released for both the Xbox One and PC on top of the originally scheduled PlayStation 4 release.

The game is confirmed to be supported by PlayStation VR already, but there is no word on whether or not it will support VR on the other platforms. Bandai Namco has not yet mentioned Oculus Rift or other devices.

Brought to you by the writer of Kiki’s Delivery Service

I was unaware of this until recently, but the reason why Ace Combat 04 and Ace Combat 5 have such excellent storytelling prowess is because they were penned by a man named Sunao Kutabuchi. While not a household name of the anime world, he helped penned the story and acted as assistant director to Hayao Miyazaki on his magical film, Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Kutabuchi will be returning for Ace Combat 7 as well, giving fans of the series something new to look forward to. Look at this adorable girl. She’s got the look of a grizzled fighter pilot, doesn’t she?
