Psy’s “Gangnam Style”, the viral sensation released back in 2012, has been viewed so many times it broke YouTube’s view counter. The quirky K-Pop song broke several Youtube records over the years, but nobody could have expected this. Who (and why) are people still watching the video? Who knows, but the number continues to climb.

We never thought a video would be watch in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY. “Gangnam Style” has been viewed so many times we had to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (9,223,372,036,854,775,808)!

If you hover over the view count, you’ll actually get to see a little YouTube trickery. The dialer was broken, but it’s fixed thanks to YouTube’s update. As of this writing, “Gangnam Style” has been viewed more than 2 billion times (2,152,551,836 to be exact). I haven’t watch Gangnam Style since it hit a few years back. Now that it’s back in the news, we’re all being forced to relive what is one of the most oddly fascinating pieces of pop culture ever.
