Apple Music won’t play nicely with your Sonos speakers at launch, but the two will be compatible ASAP, according to Apple Music senior director Ian Rogers. The ex-Beats Music CEO confirmed the plans on Twitter ahead of Music’s launch on June 30.

Beats Music was compatible with Sonos speakers, but when it’s taken over by Apple Music on Tuesday, users will no longer be able to stream their tunes around their home. After the service was announced at WWDC earlier this month, a Sonos representative said:

Sonos will not have Apple Music on it at launch but we fully expect to support them when they’re ready to focus on the home listening experience. Right now they’re fully focused on mobile.

While that’s going to be disappointing for some for a while, it’s going to change… at some point. Responding to questions about Apple Music’s compatibility with Sonos, Rogers said, “it will be [supported] ASAP, but not at launch.”

Fortunately, Apple Music can be streaming to wireless speakers with Bluetooth, and via Apple TV and Airport Express to other devices.
