Microsoft is making Office 365 free to eligible students all over the world. Millions can sign up to access Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more on Macs, PCs, and even mobile devices; all you need to do is register with your school email address.

“Last week, at a public event held by the New York City Department of Education, New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito announced free Office for all of their 1.1M students plus teachers,” Microsoft writes on its Office Blog.

“The room—filled with students and teachers—erupted with cheers. But New York is not alone.”

Now students and teachers worldwide can take advantage of free Office, and getting your hands on it is incredibly easy. All you need to do is visit the relevant registration page — there’s one for students and one for teachers — and enter your school email address to see if you’re eligible.

Those who are will be able to install Office on up to five PCs, Macs, and mobile devices, and use it as much as they like until they graduate or leave school. Microsoft also reminds students that “if you’re eligible, so are your classmates.”

Microsoft has previously made Office free to students in the U.S., but this is the first time the software giant has extended its offer to the rest of the world. It says there are around 5.5 million eligible students in Australia, nearly 5 million in Germany, 7 million in Brazil, and many millions more in other countries.
